With the formation of Binary Domain's Defense Forces, many special operators, commandos, and shock troopers were recalled for debrief and decommissioning. However, seeking to increase profits, Binary Domain created team Metal along with many other teams allowing organizations or even individuals to contract them. So far teams Metal, Onyx, Oxide, Steel, Iron, and Carbon exist.
